The borrower must be employed by an employer that is in the public sector for at minimum 10 years to be eligible to participate in this program. They must also make 120 eligible loan payments during this time. Submitting the PSLF form to recertify employment is a requirement that you submit the form to MOHELA. MOHELA will review it, and let you know the number of qualifying payments you have made.
It is mandatory to submit the PSLF form each year or at any time you change your job. This will confirm your eligibility to the program. The loan will be transferred automatically to MOHELA which is the agency that manages the program. Once you submit the form, any supporting documents that prove that you are still working must be provided.
