Payments made using PSLF that are compliant with the law

PSLF technically qualifies for Direct Parent Plus loans as long the parent works in a job that qualifies as eligible. Parents cannot be eligible for PSLF benefits in the event that the Direct Parent Plus Loan has been converted to a Federal Direct Consolidation Loan.
Certifying employment
The first step in applying for PSLF loan forgiveness is the recertification of employment using the PSLF form. For the PSLF loan forgiveness program to be valid the borrowers have to have been employed by a public interest organization, such as a non-profit or government agency for a minimum of 10 years. Furthermore, they need to have completed at least 120 eligible loan repayments in this period. MOHELA will review the PSLF Form and informs the borrower of the amount of qualifying loan repayments they’ve made.
It is mandatory to submit the PSLF form every year, or at any time you change your job. This will enable you to qualify for this program. MOHELA will then transfer the loan. After you’ve completed the application form and submitted it, you must attach any supporting documents to prove that you’re still employed.
To complete the PSLF employment certificate form, you’ll be asked to fill in personal details like your name, Social Security number and the date of birth. It also asks you to confirm any changes made to the data by checking the box. Once you’ve completed the form, you’ll need to tick a box to acknowledge that the information you entered is accurate. The PSLF Employment Certification Form has to be filled out and signed by the applicant. The form will be delivered directly to the Department of Education.
If you’re employed by a government agency that meets the requirements or public service, the PSLF will allow you to renew your employment status.
