PSLF Payments

To be eligible to the PSLF loan forgiven program, it is important to verify your employment by filling out the PSLF form. The borrower must be employed by an employer in the public sector for at least 10 years before they can be considered to participate in this program. Additionally, you must make a 120 qualifying loan payments in this period. In order to submit the PSLF form for recertifying employment is a requirement that you send it to MOHELA. MOHELA will review it, and notify you of how many qualifying payments you’ve made.
Every year, or when your job is changed, you must complete your PSLF Form. This will enable you to be eligible for the program. It will also transfer the loan to MOHELA (the agency that administers it). Once you have completed the form , you’ll have to provide supporting documents to prove that you are still working.
You’ll need to fill in the PSLF employment certification form by providing details about yourself, like your name, address and Social Security number. The form asks you to tick an option to confirm any changes made to the information. After you have completed the form, you’ll be required to check an option to confirm that the information has been correct. The PSLF Employment Certification Form must be filled out and signed by the applicant. This form will be addressed directly to the Department of Education.
You can recertify your employment status using the PSLF form, if you work for a qualifying public agency or service.
