PSLF is technically qualified to receive Direct Parent Plus Loans if that the parent works in a job that is eligible. Parents can benefit from PSLF cannot be obtained if the Direct Parent Plus Loan can’t be converted into a Federal Direct Consolidation Loan.
Certifying employment
The first step in applying for PSLF loan forgiveness is recertification of employment on the PSLF form. To be eligible for the PSLF loan forgiveness program to be considered valid applicants must have worked for an organization that is public in nature that is a non-profit or government agency for at most 10 years. In addition the borrower must have made at least 120 qualified loan payments in that time. The process of recertifying employment on the PSLF form requires submitting it to MOHELA, which will review the form and let the borrower know how many qualifying loan payments they have made.
You have to fill out the PSLF form each year, or at any time you change jobs. This will help ensure that you’re eligible to participate in the program. It will also immediately transfer your loan to MOHELA, the agency which manages the program. Once you’ve submitted the form and have completed the required paperwork, you’ll need to submit supporting documents that prove you’re still working.

This form will impact your PSLF payment or late partial payment or lump sum payment. In order to be eligible for PSLF, you must submit the PSLF form by the deadline regardless of whether or not you are employed in a public or private sector.
