Direct Parent Plus Loans are technically eligible for PSLF as long as the parent has an employment that is eligible. Parent can only benefit from PSLF when they are eligible for PSLF if their Direct Parent Plus Loans are transformed into Federal Direct Consolidation Loans.
Rectifying employment
The process of certifying employment on the PSLF form is a crucial procedure to apply for the PSLF loan forgiveness program. Borrowers must work for an employer in the public sector for at minimum 10 years before they can be considered for this program. They must also make at least 120 qualifying loans payments in the period of time. You must complete the PSLF form to confirm your employment. MOHELA will then review the form and inform the borrower the number of qualifying loan repayments they’ve made.
The PSLF is required to be completed each year. This will make sure that you’re eligible to participate in the program. Also it transfers the loan to MOHELA who manages the program. When you complete the application all supporting documents that prove that you’re still employed must be submitted.
The PSLF Employment certification form requires for details about yourself, such as your name, Social Security number, date of birth and address, as well as your phone number, and email address.
