Recertification

The PSLF loan forgiveness program requires that you been recertified as an employee. The program requires that applicants have been employed by a government agency or a non-profit organization for at least 10 years for them to be eligible. They also must make 120 qualified loan payments over that time. Recertifying employment on PSLF form requires submitting it to MOHELA and they will look over it and inform the borrower know how many qualifying loan repayments they’ve made.

Each year, or when you have a change of job, the PSLF form should also be filled out. This will ensure that you’re eligible for the program and instantly transfer the loan to MOHELA which is the organization who manages the program. When you complete the application, any supporting documents that show you’re still employed must be submitted.

You will need to fill in the PSLF employment certification form with your personal information, including your name, address and Social Security number. If you want to confirm any changes made, you will be asked to mark a checkbox. After you have completed the form, you’ll be required to verify the accuracy of the information selecting a checkbox. Last, sign and date this PSLF Employment certification form. It will be forwarded to the Department of Education.
