PSLF technically qualifies Direct Parent Plus loans so long as the parent is employed in a job that qualifies as eligible. But in the event that the Direct Parent Plus Loan is transformed into an Federal Direct Consolidation Loan, the parent will not be eligible for PSLF.
Recertification of Employment
The PSLF loan forgiveness program requires you to have recertified your employment. In order for the PSLF loan forgiven program to be valid the borrowers have to have worked for an organization of public interest that is an agency of government or non-profit organizations for a minimum of 10 years. Also, they must make a qualifying loan payment throughout this time. The process of recertifying employment on the PSLF form is to submit it to MOHELA, which will review it and let the borrower know how many qualifying loan payments they have made.
You have to fill out the PSLF form each year or whenever you change your job. This will ensure that you are eligible for the program and will immediately transfer the loan to MOHELA, the agency who manages the program. After you’ve completed the form and submitted it, you must include any documents to prove that you’re still employed.
In order to complete the PSLF employment certificate form, you’ll be asked to provide personal information like your name, Social Security number and the date of birth. In order to confirm any changes to your personal information the form requires you to mark a checkbox. After you’ve completed the form, you will have to check an option to confirm that the information you entered is accurate. The PSLF Employment Certification Form has to be filled out and signed by the applicant. This form is delivered directly to the Department of Education.
You can recertify employment status using the PSLF form, if you work in a qualifying public agency or service. Keep in mind that this form may affect the amount of your PSLF payments and late partial payments and lump sum payments. To be eligible for PSLF eligibility, you’ll have to fill out the PSLF Form by the time of the deadline.
