Fillable PSLF Form – A PSLF is utilized to report to the Social Security Administration, or IRS the amount of payments you make to pay the cost of your pension and other benefits. If you’ve been granted a deferment from the Economic Hardship Deferment PSLF is also available. The loans you receive count towards PSLF in the event that you received them prior to January 1 January 1, 2013. Before January 1, 2013, only federal student loans from the Federal Family Education Loan Program could be considered for PSLF.
PSLF can technically be used to Direct Parent Plus Loans so provided that the parent has an occupation that is qualified. The parent will not be qualified for PSLF if the Direct Parent Plus Loan is not converted to an Federal Direct Consolidation Loan.
Recertification of employment
The PSLF loan forgiveness program requires that you been recertified as an employee. The program requires that borrowers are employed by a public agency or a non-profit organization for at least 10 year in order to be qualified. In addition the borrower has to have made at least 120 qualifying loan payments within the time frame. MOHELA will review the PSLF Form and will notify the borrower of the amount of qualifying loan repayments they have completed.
Every year, or when your job is changed, you must complete your PSLF Form. This will enable you to qualify to be eligible for the program. MOHELA will then transfer the loan. Once you’ve completed the application and submitted it, you must attach any supporting documentation that shows you’re employed.
The PSLF employment certification form asks for details about yourself, like your name, Social Security number, date of birth and address, as well as your phone number, and email address. In order to confirm any changes, you will be asked to mark a checkbox. Once you’ve completed this form, it is necessary to go through the legal acknowledgement box. This will confirm that the information is accurate. Then, you must make sure you sign and date the PSLF employment certification form. This will be sent directly to the Department of Education.
If you’re working in an agency of government that is qualified or public service and are a member of the public service, the PSLF will allow you to recertify your status as an employee. This form may affect your PSLF payments as also late partial payments and lump sum payments. If you want to qualify for PSLF you must complete the PSLF form by the deadline regardless of whether you are employed in the public or private sector.
