Department Of Education PSLF Employment Certification Form – The PSLF form lets you submit to the Social Security Administration (or the IRS) the amount of payments you make in order to pay for pensions or other benefits. It’s not difficult to fill out and can help you save time and cash. The form contains several sections, including Employer information, payment details that count towards PSLF and recertification of employment.
Payments that are PSLF compliant
PSLF will take into account any payments made, even those made through the federal student loan repayment programs. In order to qualify, you must make at least 120 qualifying monthly payments over the past 10 years. Set up automatic debits to make sure you’re receiving qualified payments.
PSLF had in the past required specific kinds of repayment and payment plans. However, the federal government has recently increased eligibility requirements. The PSLF program is also open to people who had a deferment in the Economic Hardship Deferment program. If the loans were made prior to January 1st of 2013, the payments made from them will be counted towards PSLF. In the past, only payments on federal student loans under the Federal Family Education Loan program would count toward PSLF.
PSLF can be used for Direct Parent PLUS Loans, provided that the parent is employed in a qualified job. Parental benefits from PSLF can’t be obtained if the Direct Parent Plus Loan can’t be converted to the Federal Direct Consolidation Loan.
Recertification of employment
Recertifying employment on PSLF form is an essential requirement for submitting an application to the PSLF loan forgiveness program. To be eligible for the program, borrowers must have been employed for at least 10 consecutive years by an employer of public interest, like a government agency or non-profit. Furthermore, they need to have made at minimum 120 qualifying loan repayments during this time. MOHELA will review the PSLF Form and will inform the borrower of the number of loan repayments that qualify for a loan they have made.
Each year, or when you change jobs, when you change jobs, the PSLF form should also be submitted. This ensures that you’re eligible for the program. In addition it will transfer the loan to MOHELA which manages the program. Once you’ve filled out the application it is required to provide any documentation to show that you’re still employed.
The PSLF employment certification form requires you to provide personal information, including your name, Social Security numbers, birth date address, number of phone email address, as well as the date of birth.
