Recertification of Employment
The process of certifying employment on the PSLF form is an essential requirement for submitting an application to the PSLF loan forgiveness program. Borrowers must work for an employer in the public sector for at minimum 10 years before they can be considered to participate in this program. Furthermore, they must have made 120 loan qualifying payments during the period. Submitting the PSLF form for recertifying employment is a requirement that you send the form to MOHELA. MOHELA will review the form and inform you of the amount of qualifying loans you have made.
Every year, or when your position changes You must fill out the PSLF Form. This will enable you be eligible for the program. It also transfers your loan to MOHELA (the agency that manages it). After you have completed the form all supporting documents that prove that you are still working must be provided.
The PSLF employment certification form requires you to provide personal information, including your name, Social Security numbers, birth date address, number of phone email address, as well as the date of birth. It also asks you to confirm any modifications to the information by checking a box. After completing the form, you’ll be required to verify the accuracy of the information by selecting a checkbox.
