Recertifying employment
The PSLF loan forgiveness program requires that you have recertified your employment. In order to qualify for the program, borrowers have to work for a public interest employer, such as a nonprofit or government agency, for at least 10 years. Additionally, the borrower must have made 120 eligible loan payments during that period. In order to submit the PSLF form for recertifying employment is a requirement that you send the form to MOHELA. MOHELA will review the form and let you know the amount of qualifying loans you’ve made.
The PSLF form must be submitted every year , or at the time you make a change in your job. This allows you to qualify to be eligible for the program. MOHELA will then transfer the loan. When you complete the application all supporting documents that show you’re still employed must be provided.
You’ll need to fill in the PSLF Employment certification form with your personal information, including your name and Social Security number. The form also requires you to check a box to confirm any changes made to the information. After you’ve completed the form, you’ll need to check the legal acknowledgment box. This will confirm that the information you provided is accurate. Lastly, you must complete and date the PSLF Employment certification form, which will be sent to the Department of Education.
The process of certifying your employment status may be done using the PSLF Form, as in the event that you are employed in a qualified public service or government organization. This form will affect your PSLF payment and late partial payments or lump sum payments. To ensure PSLF eligibility, you’ll need to complete the PSLF Form by the time of the deadline.
